About This Project
eContent is a content creation and digital marketing company specializing in helping healthcare organizations engage and build relationships with the Hispanic community. With offices in New York, Miami, and Dallas, the company serves clients at the intersection of health communication and multicultural marketing.
When eContent approached Menta, their existing site on Wix limited the level of interactivity and custom animation their brand required. The new site needed to showcase their portfolio, present their team, and deliver a scroll experience built around movement and custom interaction, without relying on the visual frameworks of standard video platforms.
Menta delivered a web development engagement focused on advanced scroll animation, Vimeo API integration for custom video control, and implementation of a Lottie-based animated design created in collaboration with an external motion graphics studio.
The Challenge
CHALLENGE 1
Branded Video Without Native Player UI
The design required embedded video with custom volume control, without displaying the native interface of YouTube or Vimeo. Webflow has no native support for this level of video control, requiring a fully custom technical solution to maintain the visual integrity of the site.
CHALLENGE 2
Synchronized Horizontal Scroll Animations
A key section features a horizontal scroll layout with three segments, each requiring separate scroll-triggered animations synchronized with the user's position on the page. Coordinating multiple animation timelines within a horizontal container is technically complex in Webflow.
CHALLENGE 3
Custom Multi-Element Animated Design
The client provided a static vector design with four distinct animated elements that needed to be translated into scroll-triggered motion. This required collaboration with an external motion graphics studio and precise technical implementation within Webflow's interaction system.
Our Approach
Solution 1
Vimeo API with Custom Volume Control
The video was embedded via Vimeo and controlled through the Vimeo Player API with custom JavaScript. This enabled volume control and playback management without surfacing any Vimeo interface elements, keeping the visual experience fully aligned with the site's design system.
Solution 2
Full-Page Scroll as Animation Driver
Rather than triggering animations by section position, the entire page scroll was used as the single animation driver. This allowed precise percentage-based calculation for each segment within the horizontal scroll section, keeping all three animations synchronized with the user's actual position.
Solution 3
After Effects to Lottie Pipeline
Working with motion graphics studio Chakana Studio, the four animated elements were built in After Effects and exported to Lottie format. The files were integrated into Webflow with scroll-trigger logic applied, delivering the custom animated experience in a lightweight, web-ready format.
